On December 4, 2025, Sahar was killed in a tragic car accident on Highway 6. That morning, he left home for work, never imagining it would be the last time he would see his wife and children.
Later that day, Sahar finished work in the Hadera area and began driving toward Modi'in to pick up his children from daycare. Near the Horshim interchange, another vehicle struck his car from behind with tremendous force. Sahar was killed instantly. He was only 33 years old.
Sahar was a devoted husband, a loving father of two young children, a commander and combat soldier in the reserves, and a friend who always put others first. He was someone who believed deeply in people, in conversation, and in bringing others together. He had a full life ahead of him.
The loss is overwhelming. Our hearts are broken. Out of this deep grief, his close friends have come together to create a memorial project that reflects who Sahar was and what he stood for—connection, care, and community.
In Sahar’s memory, we are working to establish a recreational nature site: a place that brings people together and creates a connection between people and the outdoors. It will be a space filled with life, children, and moments of quiet joy—values that defined Sahar’s life.
We invite you to be part of this effort. Your support will help us transform loss into something lasting and meaningful, and ensure that Sahar’s spirit continues to touch the lives of others.
Sahar was a loving husband to Sapir and a devoted father to Ariel (6) and Almog (2.5). He was an engaged and affectionate father—always present, always caring, always leading with an open heart.
Over the past two years, Sahar served extensively as a combat soldier during the Iron Swords war, including 410 days of reserve duty. He was a sergeant in the evacuation platoon of Battalion 8114, where he played a key role in saving lives, often at great personal risk. Even while deployed, he never missed a chance to video call his family, who were the center of his world.
Sahar cared deeply for his soldiers and everyone around him. He made sure others were supported and looked after before allowing himself a moment of rest. He noticed those who struggled and quietly stepped in to help.
He was also a passionate Hapoel Tel Aviv fan and a familiar face in Gate 5—another place where his sense of belonging and community shone through.
Sahar believed in people and in creating spaces where connections could form naturally—even between individuals who might never otherwise meet. In honoring his memory, we wanted to continue that path.
We searched for a location near his home in Modi'in that could serve as a welcoming meeting place for families, friends, and visitors. We ultimately chose the Canary Pine Recreation Area in the Eshtaol Forest, and launched a fundraising effort to renovate and upgrade the site in Sahar’s honor. We feel this place truly reflects his character and values.
Eshtaol Forest is one of the most significant and well-loved forests in the Jerusalem and Shephelah region. Covering over 12,000 dunams, it welcomes thousands of families, children, and hikers each year.

This project is our way of turning grief into something that gives back—to families, to children, and to the community Sahar loved so deeply.
If you feel moved to support this memorial, we would be grateful to have you with us.
